London to Paris the Chunnel Way

John and Judy Humphreys think this is a great way to travel

Faster than Flying

It's the fastest way between London and Paris

If you haven't used the Eurostar, aka "the chunnel train", it is definitely worth a try.

The 3 hour train trip and fast passport processing, make it the fastest connection between these two great cities.

There are so many departures each day that it is easily possible to make a day trip.

We left London from Waterloo Station. The departure area is dedicated to
the Eurostar and easy to deal with.

Everyone gets a reserved seat, so you are locked into specific train departure times.

There is Economy, First, and Premium First. We booked economy from a U.S. based agent before leaving for the UK and got return tickets for about half the standard rate of 100 pounds each way.

Economy seating was fine there isplenty of room to store your luggage. You can buy a limited selection of food and drink items on board, but we brought our own sandwich.

The train makes a couple of quick stops along the way before terminating at the Gare du Nord.
